Our name comes from "Chie" and "Rieko". "Chie" means Grace, Compassion and Kindness. The land is filled with these serene emotions and spending time here replenishes ones body and soul. It also means "Thousand". "Rieko" means "The way of things" which we hone by living up to our ancestral traditions. It also means "Children", which paired with first word gives "Thousand children". We believe children are the future and we are blessed to have such plentiful lands that provide us daily.
